LOL!!! I LOVE This Video!!!!

Disclaimer...
...the author of this blog is not knocking reviews nor reviewers, but is mainly trying to find balance, serenity, and a sense of humour in the outrageous world of I loved versus I hated...

OMG!!!!

Okay, I know it's been forever since I've posted, but this one post is going to grant me forgiveness and make you pee your pants. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

As writers, we all look at reviews as a love/hate relationship. We love the good ones and hate the bad. But moreover, quite often we don't get more than a one line explanation of why someone didn't like our work, and sometimes not even that. (Don't you just love the poor star rating without a word to go with it...) Even with an explanation, it seems that what one person thinks is brilliant, another thinks is a unbelievable. I also find it funny how a great review lifts us up for a short time, while a meh or bad review can bum us out for days or even weeks.

As I release more books, and have a few more reviews coming in, at least I think they'll be coming in, lol, I'm trying to keep an even keel...I can't please everyone and some folks simply won't like what I've written. It doesn't mean others will feel the same and I have to learn to roll with it... of course I'd much rather do as this next author in the video.

If EVER there was a single creation to sum up the roller coaster ride known as reviews, this is it!!!

See... I told you it was hilarious. I think the woman's expressions are what puts it over the edge for me. Thanks to my great pal Bron for sending me this link and making my day... you rock girl.

Hugs to all and thanks for dropping by.

Reviews...

Well, it's been a while since a few of my books came out, and thus far, only one review. It's got me thinking... what gives? I see reviews for books that came out the same time as mine or later, and still, nothing.

But then there's this part of me that isn't quite sure whether I want to have them reviewed. I mean, I know you can't please everyone, but there's just something about a bad review. It's like a sore that just doesn't heal.

It's weird when you think about it. You spend all this time trying to get published, making your work good enough to get that contract, then you spend more time worrying if it's good enough for the critics. It seems you spend more time wondering how good is good than anything else. Then to top it off, you find it on the pirate sites more than anywhere else!

Only one thing is for sure, I'm still wondering...

Cheers,
Kris

Reviews...

Hey all...

Just a quick post to announce Resplendence Publishing's new promo blog — RP Blog — is now posting reviews of both new and older RP books, and yours truly is part of the review circle... Yup, this is what happens when you raise your hand, lol.

Actually I couldn't be happier. We haven't worked out all the kinks yet, but our first two reviews will be debuting tomorrow. Celia Kyle reviewed "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by the lovely Ann Cory, and I talked about "Handcuff's and Lies" by the talented Bronwyn Green. Please drop over and check them out. They are both excellent books and enjoyable reads you won't want to put down.

We are hoping to review new releases on Sunday, and perhaps older books on Wednesdays. I'll give all the details once we have it all ironed out. But for now, you can get our first pickings. I just love the authors at Resplendence and am looking forward to sprouting their fine talent for all their readers.

On a personal note... I'm very excited to announce that Sacred Talisman is going to be book one in my new series.... sorry, no name yet, but I'm working on it. I've been having very distracting thoughts of the other books and finally broke down and asked my editor if it was too late to make it a series. My awesome lady laughed and said... I already thought it was because their were five more talisman left... lol. So I'll be starting on the next story once I finish off the last few edits to my next submission.

Okay, back to work... just two more days left in our summer vacation and I'm trying to make the most of it.

Cheers,
Kris
